Life Is Sweet! Nice To Meet You
Back in Feburary, the British artist Lightspeed Champion (aka Devonté Hynes) released his second album Life Is Sweet! Nice To Meet You after a two year hiatus and throat surgery. Like his first album, Life Is Sweet! Nice To Meet You is full of catchy melodies and cute lyrics that was woven together with delicately intricate strings -- but without the simplicity and added way too much sophistication. At one time there are moments that are extremly beautiful and others that you really just wanted to flash foward. No denying that Dev have one of the most distingtive voice of the generation but when the instruments become too overwhelming, his voice would lost its peculiarity.2010年4月10日 星期六

Noel's first post-Oasis gig
Noel Gallagher from Oasis performed live for the first time after the recent spill, for Teenage Cancer Trust in Royal Albert Hal. The setlist is dreamy, he performed many songs that were the Oasis classics and some of his best solo songs. People who got to see this performance is super duper lucky!I'm tearing up just listening to the crowds sings along with 'Don't Go Away.'

MGMT-Congratulations
People might be a bit disappointed about the fact that, unlike the previous album, MGMT's Congratulations is lack of singles that can stands out like 'KIDS' and 'Electric Feel.' Without the guaranteed popular elements, Congratulations still surprises me with amazing details and fun rythm. The opening song 'It's Working' keeps me wonder if I was really listenign to MGMT, and then the Beatles-like 'Someone's Missing' truly makes the next song 'Flash Delerium' worked and was blown away by the exploding power of the song. Every song seems like a new start and for me it's very MGMT; of course the sound is more mature, and of course it felt a bit different then the first time--maybe less dancey. As one of the most anticipated albums of the year, MGMT's Congratulations is a very pleasant and admirable piece of work.

The Lonely Island
The Lonely Island - consists of the SNL Digital Shorts writers and comedians Andy Samberg, Akiva Schaffer and Jorma Taccone - release a studio album in Feburary. The collaborations with Jack Black, Norah Jones, Justine Timberlake and Julian Casablancas were all so amazing and hilarious. Now they've made my favorite song in the album into a video!

Franz Ferdinand for Lady Dior
Marion Cotillard is the new face of Dior and for the new campaign the fashion house invited Franz Ferdinand to write and performed a new song with her. Marion Cotillard sings and starrs in the music video of 'Eyes of Mars,' but sadly for some reasons , the bands in the video were stand-ins for Franz. Their style would totally fit the video though.
