LennonNYC

Went to see the documentary LennonNYC yesterday, at NYFF. Its' the world premiere of the film, many of John's old band mates and producers were there - and of course Yoko was there. The film documented the 10 years of John's post-Beatles life in NYC with Yoko, his fights for peace and the right to stay in the country that he truly feels at home -the United States. With each recording sessions, there was a story behind the songs and John's motivation; so many of the studio recordings and personal footages featured in the film were shown to the public for the first time. The chronological timeline help clear up many of my confusions over the years, and once again, John's mind and his music touched me just like they did 15 years ago. Before this film, I didn't really know Yoko that well, now I truly admire her as an artist, a woman and the wife of the most incredible man that ever lived.
Living in the city where John dearly loved, I cannot fathom how deep this means to me. I was changed because of his music, now I'm about to go through more changes in the city that changed John's life.
