Dark Was The Night

Dark Was The Night was probably the most talked about album in 2009, the album includes many artists from the like of Dirty Projectors to Grizzly Bear and Feist. This complication is to mainly to gain awareness of HIV and AIDS. On May 3,2009, there was a live concert at New York's Radio City Music Hall, though not all of the artists featured on the album were there, but you can still find Bon Iver, Dirty Projectors ,Feist and many other great musicians.
NRP is streaming the entire concert on their website. Take a listen!

What I've been listening to...

Leaves - We Are Shadows
Leaves is an Icelandic band that reminds me a little bit of The Verve, Coldplay and sometimes a little bit of Sigur Rós. The album is charming, like a movie soundtrack that could brings you up and down in many twists and turns.
MP3: Dragonflies

Vienna Teng - Inland Territory
As a singer, songwriter and pianist, Vienna Teng offers more than her deserved titles. The Taiwan-born American artist self-described her music as 'folk-pop’ or ‘alternative pop,' you also can't overlook the beautifully composed piano and the intricate lyrics. Inland Territory is a relaxing and interesting album, just listen to one of her songs and you'll understand her immense talent as a singer and musician.
MP3: Augustine

Telekinesis! - Telekinesis!
The Seattle based Telekinesis! is kind of quirky and cute, the songs on the debut self-titled album are contagious! The catchy pop songs kept me intrigued for more, this could be the best summer tune of 2009.
MP3: Tokyo

Slowly

Did I mentioned I almost screw up at work? Yes, so close that I couldn't stop sweating just the thought of it right now. That's why I turned to Conor Oberst and the Mystic Valley Band's new album Outer South on my way home and drown in the folky and calming melodies. After years and years of making magnificently great albums, Conor Oberst ,alongside with his band mates, became alittle too "equally distrubuted." I do love listening to many different voices but just not those mingling with Conor Oberst's, compare to some his previous works, Outer South is kind of a mediocre one. But of course Outer South is lovely and relexing, just great for a early summer afternoon.

Sing-along

Have you seen the new T-mobile commercial? The one with thousands of people having a "Hey Jude Sing-along" in London's Trafalgar Square. You must've been kind of touched by the idea(despite some funny people in it who really can't sing), I'd love to be singing this song with a huge crowd!
