4 minutes later, Madonna's going to save the world of pop music! Great pop song is hard to find, yet Hard Candy is a album with 12 amazingly awesome pop songs. Not just because of the powerful collaborations with Justin Timberlake ,Timbaland and Kanye West, it's also for the superb urban and futuristic sound that very few pop artists could carry. Madonna's got the courage and the young heart that could help to show her energetic and fearless taste in music. Pop/Dance is not really my thing, but Hard Candy totally got me hooked with its up-beat tempo and amazing complexity.

Franz Ferdinand posted a short clip on the band's MySpace page called "Under The Stage." It's the live of the new album recording session,we are not sure whether "Under The Stage" will be the album title.

Yes,it's Scarlett Johansson. You probably had known her from various characters in the movies she starred in,but this time it's yet another different Scarlett Johansson. Anywhere I Lay My Head is a tribute album that covers 10 Tom Waits songs and add an original song, many incredible people in the music circle(David Bowie!!) did "a little bit" of help. Bob Dylan Wins Honorary Pulitzer Prize

Bob Dylan received an honorary Pulitzer Prize , cited for his "profound impact on popular music and American culture, marked by lyrical compositions of extraordinary poetic power." I believe that Dylan deserves any awards in this world; he's a genius in every aspects!

Long Tall Sally

被稱為"第一首真正的rock n' roll",Long Tall Sally的確是為搖滾樂墊下了許多基礎. 不過這首歌並不是Beatles而是Little Richard在1956年寫的(順帶一提,Little Richard是將節奏藍調轉為搖滾的重要人物!).Long Tall Sally的靈感來源只是某個人將幾句歌詞提供給Little Richard希望他能寫首歌,Little Richard起初可是不太願意,但這些歌詞中的一句''ducked back in the alley"他可是非常喜歡,於是Little Richard漸漸把這首歌越唱越快,一開頭的編曲方式和blue beat的標準shuffle,再搭上Little Richard具有渲染與侵略性的高音,Long Tall Sally 在當時聽來真是驚為天人!


緊接著Long Tall Sally的成功,許多翻唱版本也紛紛出籠(Elvis,Tornados,Kinks..).不過最有名的一個翻唱版本是Beatles 1964年在英國發行的同名EP,Beatles的版本最為知名除了更為狂野的節奏和Paul McCartney整整又高了Little Richard一度的高音之外,還有就是Little Richard本人的傳承了!其實早在Beatles成名前與漢堡(Hamburg)時期就當過Little Richard的暖場團,也因而與Little Richard結識.從Paul早期唱歌的方式就可以聽到一些Little Richard的經驗傳承(那些超高的"oooh"和"wooo"),同時這首歌也讓那些批評Beatles只會唱可愛小情歌的人閉嘴,Long Tall Sally又再次成為締造歷史的關鍵.

每天有兩個時段是我最喜歡的.
不知道你有沒有注意過,在清晨時分即將破曉前,儘管天空已經有一絲淡抹的微光,街上的路燈與店家的招牌仍是亮著的;同樣的,在耀眼的陽光已經西落,還未進入黑暗夜晚前的那幾十分鐘,街道被車子與招牌的亮光點綴著,天空的顏色是不暗不亮的灰藍色,這樣的transition period在我心目中是最美麗的風景. 今天的天空就是這樣,再配上She & Him的專輯Volume One不斷的重複撥放著,好久沒有覺得台北是那麼的美了.Volume One讓一切都變得很美麗,對象可以是咖啡廳裡慵懶的人群;鄉村熱鬧的市集;夏威夷度假的樂趣;60年代高中畢業舞會的扭扭舞.......Zooey Deschanel的聲音有Dusty Springfield的溫厚力道和Jenny Lewis般的俏皮,有時候還會被M. Ward沉穩的合音給吸引.其中翻唱Beatles的"I Should Have Known Better"是個富有新意的版本,不過也沒有更改過多而失去了歌的原味.Volume One是張任何時候都適合聆聽的專輯,對於六零年代流行樂和folk有興趣的人絕對會愛上Volume One.
