Bring The Light

Beady Eye - aka, Oasis without Noel - released a new song called 'Bring The Light' yesterday.Well, I like this kind of tunes but I still want some witty and charming lyrics that only Noel can write; I've always hoped that Noel might just need a little break from his kid brother, but now the break has taken so long I'm not surpursed if Noel release his own solo album!

Time of My Life

Patrick Wolf is back, with the second half of his project. The first part The Bachelor was out in 2009, with this second half still-untitled album at wrok, Wolf made this minimalist video of the song Time of My Life. In deed this sounds more optimistic and happy compare to the songs in The Bachelor, but what I can't wait to see is the  more enchanting video with those Wolf's signature mesmerizing visual stimulation.

Mark Ronson covers Arcade Fire

The other day, Mark Ronosn was on BBC radio 1 Jo Whiley's show, he declared his love for Arcade Fire's new album and covered the song "We used to wait." His version is more simple and straight forward; I still like the original one better though, but I really appreciate their cover version and hopefully helped promote The Suburbs!

Warpaint is releasing their debut album The Fool on October 25. I saw them live the other week and I have to say they're a really good live band, the instrumental construction and each members' role in the band is very interesting. They can be soft, explosive and even gone to the extreme; the music is fresh and intricate. I'm really looking forward to the new album.

LennonNYC

Went to see the documentary LennonNYC yesterday, at NYFF. Its' the world premiere of the film, many of John's old band mates and producers were there - and of course Yoko was there.The film documented the 10 years of John's post-Beatles life in NYC with Yoko, his fights for peace and the right to stay in the country that he truly feels at home -the United States. With each recording sessions, there was a story behind the songs and John's motivation; so many of the studio recordings and personal footages featured in the film were shown to the public for the first time. The chronological timeline help clear up many of my confusions over the years, and once again, John's mind and his music touched me just like they did 15 years ago. Before this film, I didn't really know Yoko that well, now I truly admire her as an artist, a woman and the wife of the most incredible man that ever lived.
Living in the city where John dearly loved, I cannot fathom how deep this means to me. I was changed because of his music, now I'm about to go through more changes in the city that changed John's life.

Disorder

The crazy New York Fashion Week is over and I had the privilege to be a very small part of it. New location, new tent and to me, a totally new experience. "New York is the center of Fashion," that's what people says and I couldn't agree more. The love-hate relationships of the life in the City started to grow on me and at times just the thought of "being here" overwhelmed me. I've been to some concerts, some film festivals and was exposed to many of my favorite things I called my life; To me, Fashion and music come together and I often randomly choose a song as the theme of my style-of-the-day. Apart from The Strokes' after party gig for Tommy Hilfiger, I've heard some songs during runway show that reminds me of a certain time in my life. So glad I'm here.
