Finally!The Last Shadow Puppets 前幾天在紐約開始了第一場表演,雖然是acoustic也感覺的到這些歌的力量.同時他們的網站上也放了'The Age Of Understatement'的mv,特別到俄羅斯拍攝還真的是有他的道理.'The Age Of Understatement'完全不像Arctic Monkeys和The Rascals,不但用了很多弦樂營造epic氛圍,Alex和Miles聲音的互相配合也把整首歌放大,就像一部老電影的原聲帶一般讓人緊張又享受.他們在俄羅斯拍的這支mv用了好多的象徵影像,而這兩個英國小子也還是用著自己一貫的步調一邊唱歌一邊穿越(take that!?)這些威權與傳統的age of the understatement.....

經過了之前的延期又延期,3/17Muse終於要發行去年在Wembley的兩場live DVD/CD package.DVD內容是17號的live, CD則是16號的recording. Muse今年暑假依然會參加幾場summer festivals, they're unstoppable!

The 80th Oscar

自從三台還有在現場轉撥Oscar的那個年代開始它就是我每年最期待的典禮.觀影習慣也從小時候從典禮提名名單來找電影來看,轉變為現在藉由網路的傳播能力target下一部可能留名的好電影.今年有許多很棒的電影(Once, Juno, No Country For Old Men, There Will Be Blood...etc)都是從網路的trailer,reviews等管道吸引住我的目光也影響了全世界的觀影人並且在第80屆的Oscar綻放光芒.

今年的典禮感覺還算緊湊,主持人Jon Stewart話也不多但每一句都很有笑點.最讓我意外的獎項當然是Best Supporting Actress,Oscar有時候真的就是會有出乎意料的結果~(Cate永遠是我心中最棒的leading lady!)典禮當中有一些時刻是讓我感動,興奮或是緊張的,當然也有時候我會跑開做些別的事,在家看頒獎典禮的我們感到很舒適自在但是在典禮會場的眾明星們應該坐到屁股有點麻了吧!幸好還是有一些很有趣的presenters(Seth Rogen和Jonah Hill爭相扮演Halle Berry),鏡頭也不時帶到一些帥哥(George Clooney, James McAvoy,Johnny Depp),還有一些平常不太有機會在媒體曝光的演員都出席,並且還可以從明星們的穿著看出Red is the new Black!

上一次那麼期待一個聽都沒聽過的新專輯已經是....想不起來多久以前了! Arctic Monkeys的主唱Alex與好友Miles Kane的合作The Last Shadow Puppets將在4/21發行專輯The Age Of The Understatement.

Nine In The Afternoon

去掉了"!"之後的Panic At The Disco果然比較快樂!新歌"Nine In The Afternoon"與第一張專輯所廣為人知的幾首歌幾乎是成對比了,他們這次的專輯Pretty.Odd依然是選擇了一個馬戲團式的幻想主題,但是更多了Magical Mystery Tour的歡樂氣氛.不知道是不是受到Beatles Love在Vegas演出的啟發,"Nine In The Afternoon"中我可以抓到許多與Beatles相彷的片段(一開頭的琴聲就像A Day In The Life,mv內容更不用說了),不管在音樂上和影像上Beatles的影響力果然是無遠弗屆呀!(咦,不是在講PATD的嗎...又扯遠了)

Rocket Science

"一個有語言障礙的小男生參加辯論比賽"是Rocket Science的主題,在這個看似感人勵志的故事卻是笑點十足而且還充滿了反叛氣味.主角Hal Hefner是個講話會結巴又害羞的男孩,因為家庭的失和還有一個會欺負他的哥哥使Hal經常活在無奈與挫折中,不過有一天學校辯論隊的明星Ginny Ryerson突然邀請Hal與他組隊參加辯論比賽,Ginny說的直覺告訴她Hal有許多潛力值得開發....
Rocket Science一直在我的必看清單上,更可喜的是它完全沒有讓我失望(Superbad就不如我想像中好看,but I'll give it a second try).就如一般小成本電影,Rocket Science沒有太多的場景但是整部電影很流暢也讓人耳目一新;Hal雖然有些語言障礙但他所說的每一句話都讓我屏氣凝神的專注聆聽(可能也是因為演Hal的Reece Thompson太有靈性了!),恨不得自己可以幫他一吐怨氣,略帶憂鬱又事事不順的Hal比起其他在大螢幕上看到的胡搞青少年更為真實,也更像我們自己高中時期般迷惘與糊塗.Hal在乎的不是比賽的名次而是尋找人生中那些無解問題的答案,在愛情親情和友情的奇妙變化中的我們到底要怎麼活下去?
