The 80th Oscar

自從三台還有在現場轉撥Oscar的那個年代開始它就是我每年最期待的典禮.觀影習慣也從小時候從典禮提名名單來找電影來看,轉變為現在藉由網路的傳播能力target下一部可能留名的好電影.今年有許多很棒的電影(Once, Juno, No Country For Old Men, There Will Be Blood...etc)都是從網路的trailer,reviews等管道吸引住我的目光也影響了全世界的觀影人並且在第80屆的Oscar綻放光芒.

今年的典禮感覺還算緊湊,主持人Jon Stewart話也不多但每一句都很有笑點.最讓我意外的獎項當然是Best Supporting Actress,Oscar有時候真的就是會有出乎意料的結果~(Cate永遠是我心中最棒的leading lady!)典禮當中有一些時刻是讓我感動,興奮或是緊張的,當然也有時候我會跑開做些別的事,在家看頒獎典禮的我們感到很舒適自在但是在典禮會場的眾明星們應該坐到屁股有點麻了吧!幸好還是有一些很有趣的presenters(Seth Rogen和Jonah Hill爭相扮演Halle Berry),鏡頭也不時帶到一些帥哥(George Clooney, James McAvoy,Johnny Depp),還有一些平常不太有機會在媒體曝光的演員都出席,並且還可以從明星們的穿著看出Red is the new Black!

上一次那麼期待一個聽都沒聽過的新專輯已經是....想不起來多久以前了! Arctic Monkeys的主唱Alex與好友Miles Kane的合作The Last Shadow Puppets將在4/21發行專輯The Age Of The Understatement.

Nine In The Afternoon

去掉了"!"之後的Panic At The Disco果然比較快樂!新歌"Nine In The Afternoon"與第一張專輯所廣為人知的幾首歌幾乎是成對比了,他們這次的專輯Pretty.Odd依然是選擇了一個馬戲團式的幻想主題,但是更多了Magical Mystery Tour的歡樂氣氛.不知道是不是受到Beatles Love在Vegas演出的啟發,"Nine In The Afternoon"中我可以抓到許多與Beatles相彷的片段(一開頭的琴聲就像A Day In The Life,mv內容更不用說了),不管在音樂上和影像上Beatles的影響力果然是無遠弗屆呀!(咦,不是在講PATD的嗎...又扯遠了)

Rocket Science

"一個有語言障礙的小男生參加辯論比賽"是Rocket Science的主題,在這個看似感人勵志的故事卻是笑點十足而且還充滿了反叛氣味.主角Hal Hefner是個講話會結巴又害羞的男孩,因為家庭的失和還有一個會欺負他的哥哥使Hal經常活在無奈與挫折中,不過有一天學校辯論隊的明星Ginny Ryerson突然邀請Hal與他組隊參加辯論比賽,Ginny說的直覺告訴她Hal有許多潛力值得開發....
Rocket Science一直在我的必看清單上,更可喜的是它完全沒有讓我失望(Superbad就不如我想像中好看,but I'll give it a second try).就如一般小成本電影,Rocket Science沒有太多的場景但是整部電影很流暢也讓人耳目一新;Hal雖然有些語言障礙但他所說的每一句話都讓我屏氣凝神的專注聆聽(可能也是因為演Hal的Reece Thompson太有靈性了!),恨不得自己可以幫他一吐怨氣,略帶憂鬱又事事不順的Hal比起其他在大螢幕上看到的胡搞青少年更為真實,也更像我們自己高中時期般迷惘與糊塗.Hal在乎的不是比賽的名次而是尋找人生中那些無解問題的答案,在愛情親情和友情的奇妙變化中的我們到底要怎麼活下去?

An Alright Start

到了某個年紀,身邊的長輩們總是會問:"你畢業以後有什麼計畫?"我要不是給個模稜兩可的回答,就是開玩笑的說我要"混吃等死".其實心中有無數個計畫不想告訴太多人,大概是自尊心承受不了失敗後外界可能的冷嘲熱諷,另一方面也是迷信一種自以為神秘而產生的驅動力量使然.....有些計畫早就被我拋到九霄雲外,對於某些正在進行的夢想而言,so far ,it's an alright start.

The Hard Lessons來自美國Michigan.把經典Rock & Roll的特色加上了indie rock/pop的catchy旋律而成為了The Hard Lessons獨有的特殊聲音,他們具有爆發力的現場演出也是吸引了許多樂迷的原因.最近他們在網站上放了B&G Sides Volume 1&2的幾首歌免費下載!The Hard Lessons的音樂雖然比較按部就班,但不管在pop或是rock趨向的曲風也可以聽出漸漸釋放的野心!

上一張專輯Let Go Of Your Bad Days已經是將近五年前的事了,The Salteens最近終於在網上站放了新歌'Hallowed Ways'. (In case it's the first time you heard them) The Salteens是來自加拿大的Power-pop樂團,他們的成功可以說多數是靠樂迷們的口耳相傳,在巡迴過程中不但受到加拿大本地樂迷的支持,也吸引了不少美國和日本的忠實樂迷.The Salteens的音樂一聽就會著迷, 雖然長度都很短,但輕鬆又好記的旋律在聽完之後會不自覺的跟著哼唱呢!
